Background and challenges
Coopérative U is the third food retailer in France and operates under brands such as Hyper U, Super U, U Express, Utile and Marché U, with 1,600 points of sale and a 10.7% market share. Since 2014, the U Payment Institution (UEP) has been providing a solution that significantly cuts the banking commissions usually billed by conventional banks. Against this backdrop, Coopérative U wanted to provide its members with an innovative and effective payment service that could optimise costs while retaining the benefits of its usual bank.
MONEXT’s solution
MONEXT met these requirements by supplying a comprehensive payment flow management solution and an on-line payment system for all click & collect drive thrus.
MONEXT’s solution enables the routing of ON-US flows for both authorisations and remittance, for all Coopérative U points of sale. This remote collection system provides optimum clearing flow management for bank cards (CB, VISA, Mastercard) and has a single back office for the management of outstanding payments, baselines and financial analysis.
Thanks to MONEXT’s solution, Coopérative U was able to significantly reduce interbank commission while maintaining its relationship with its partner bank. This partnership has enabled Coopérative U to simplify its payment management and strengthen its market position as a major retailer in France.
